Phantom child prologue

It was raining, a figure moved across the rooftops trying to find the manor of the Regina. Rumors has it she was harsh has the emperor herself. He keep his hood low and moved in the shadows. He saw a window open in the manor has he rolled and leaned over the corner to see a figure of a woman in a t-shirt and jeans. Her hair was wet and the color of dark chocolate, her skin like clay and eyes like caramel. There were two guards and she was watching a movie by herself, she munched on popcorn has he entered her manor. The small group of rebels called the outsiders said she was known to have god like powers. Ezio did not believe it; no one in and outside the empire had powers. He rolled to a couch and kept low has he hoped his commards were able to make it into the manor as well for this surprise attack on Regina Fey.
She got up from the couch she was sitting on, “Guards can you leave I would like to be alone.” The guards looked at her has she glared at them and they left. This is too easy Ezio thought has she walked over to the bookcase in the room. She pulled out a book and flipped through a few pages, she is a heavy woman she won’t be able to run he thought has he wondered why no one was able to assassinate her yet. “Let me go.” The figure said has Ezio known that voice it was Delia. “Let her in, are you hungry? Thirsty? Come on let’s have a chat.” The guard let the figure in has she looked at the other hooded figure. “Shoot.” Delia yelled has Ezio fired has Regina Fey was gone she appeared in front of him and had the pistol in her hands. Bullet fell to the floor has she threw the gun, “Regina will you need any…” She cut off her guard. “I will not need any help, Sebastian thank you. Go back to your rounds.” Sebastian nodded his head and shut the door.
“Ezio Ramirez and Delia Blake, explain to me why you are here another than to kill me?” He removed his hood has Delia went to attack the Regina has the Regina smirked has was holding Delia’s twin daggers in her hands. “Child, just tell me what I did to get you guys so mad. Killing someone with out telling them why is kind of naïve.” Ezio saw the Regina break the daggers. “Come on now.”
“The draft.” Ezio raised his voice has the Regina looked at him, :”I told the emperor the draft would cause problems, the draft is out of my hands children, I only control my country but what the emperor says is final. I wish we didn’t have the draft but if I went against the emperor I would dead. Now make yourselves at home.” She sat back down has Ezio was confused, “How did you.”
She smirked, “I know everyone’s name and information, I have many eyes and ears children. That is how I knew you were coming along with the others. Look, the rumors you hear are false, I am not cruel.” Delia looked at the Regina, “Liar, you have people fight to the death on pay per view.” Delia’s hands curled into fists, “Emperor’s rule, is it inhumane maybe? There are certain things out of my control children. Anything else?” She asked has she paused the movie she was watching.
“The plague.” Ezio said with no emotion has the Regina has a hurt look, “The plague has been around before the empire was created, there is no cure. There is nothing I can do. Your mother is Scylla Ramirez and your father is Logan Kirk.” She had a file of her hands. “You been living with your mother near the wastelands, I been telling your mother to move away from there raiders been planning on raiding my country. Now Delia Blake, your father is Tybalt Blake and mother Liliana Blake you live in the east near the caves. “Like I said there is not a lot of things I can do, I wish there was a cure but until there is one made I am stuck here in my house dying.” She placed the file on the coffee table and pushed them towards Ezio. “Kill her.” Delia yelled has she heard the door opening and a small voice call out, “Mommy.” The Regina looked at the small child, “Xavier, you should be in bed.” Xavier hugged his mother has she picked him up and kissed his forehead. “The guards said you had visitors, nice to meet you.” Xavier said with a smile has he looked at Ezio and Delia. “Xavier, what did I tell you about coming into mommy’s study with out knocking?” He pouted, “But I wanted to meet the visitors mommy.” Ezio looked at the child, he could not be older than six. “Excuse me, I will be right back. Xavier you must go to sleep you have your studies in the morning.” She picked him up and carried the child has she left. “I didn’t know the Regina had a son.” Ezio said has Delia went after the Regina, Ezio followed her has the Regina opened a door and walked into a blue room with cars on the walls and toys above the floor.

She moved her hands has there was smoke, there were shots fired has Ezio saw the bloodstains and footprints. He picked up Xavier and disappeared into the night
