GB Frostbite

The throbbing pain, shaking hands, teeth clutching and the darkness trying to take his vision, he got up and winced. Damned he thought has it started to sprinkle, his maple eyes looked into the night sky has he felt numb the pain was gone. He heard his phone and someone yelling “Sam!” He tried to stay awake has he looked at the moon has he heard silence.
“Sam! Wake up you can’t be dead!” A pair of hands touched Heath’s shoulders has he saw his brother in a hospital bed with a breath tube and his chest wrapped in bandages. The beeps of the machines has Heath looked at the man touching his shoulders. “Heath calm down, Sam will be okay.” Heath slapped the hands away, “It won’t be okay, Kai, Sam he was shot eight times.” Heath blurted has he heard a moan and looked at the hospital bed. “Sam.” Heath looked at his brother, his dark brown hair was tossed has Sam opened his eyes to see Heath’s dark eyes and black spike hair.
Heath saw Sam tug at the breathing tube has Kai grabbed Sam’s hands. “Don’t.” Kai lowered his voice has Sam looked at Kai with this light brown hair and sunglasses. Sam laid there and looked at Heath has Heath had tears in his eyes. “They said you could have died. I still can’t believe you were mugged.” Heath said has he held Sam’s hand as Sam squeezed it trying to tell Heath he was fine.
The doctor came in and Heath and Kai left the room, they came back has they saw Sam sitting up wincing. “I need a drink.” Sam said. “No liquor with pills.” Kai chimed has Sam glared at him. “I am glad you aren’t dead.” Heath said has Sam looked at his brother. “It takes a lot more to kill me Heath. You know I won’t leave you after all it is only you and me versus the world.” Sam said has he coughed and blood was on his hands. “Sam!” Heath said with panic in his voice. “I am fine.” Sam said has he cleaned his hand on the hospital blanket.
There was a knock at the door has a police woman stood there. “I need to take to Sam Kyle, if you two would stand out in the hallway please?” Kai looked at the police woman has he grabbed Heath and left the room. Heath looked at his cell phone he has two missed calls from Alexis. He pressed three on his cell phone and called her. “Alexis?” Heath asked as it sounded like Alexis was in a tunnel. “Hello?” Alexis asked. “Hey, um called me.” Heath said has Kai was pulling his hair back. “How’s your brother? I hope he is okay. I came over right when the amubalce left I was worried something might have happened to you.” Alexis said. “He is doing better, I call you back the cops just finished talking to him.” Heath hung up has he saw Sam smiling like a kid in a candy store.
“See you around Ms. Captor.” Sam purred has Heath looked at his brother. “What was that?” Heath asked. “Did you see her? She was a 11 out of 10, besides that she seems nice.” Kai punched Sam in the arm has Sam winced and chewed his lip. Kai whispered in Sam’s ear. “Are you trying to get yourself thrown in prision?” Kai looked at Heath has he sat down in one of the chairs in the private hospital room.
“Sam rest.” Kai yelled has Sam tried to work out. “No, I need to get better Kai.” Sam said has he winced and tried to do a one handed push up. “It has only been six months.” Sam did ten push ups and stopped. “We are behind on the bills, Kai. Heath is going to need money for college.” Kai watched has Sam sat down on the couch. “Why do you think I am here, I know you hate asking for help but.” Kai placed a duffle bag on the coffee table.
Heath was eating lunch at school has Alexis came and sat next to him. “Have any plans later? Maybe we can have video game night at my place.” Heath took a bite out of his sandwitch. “You know how my brother is.” Heath sighed has Alexis made a face. “Then your place?” She asked with a smile, “I will have to ask.”
Heath came home to see Sam placing a duffel bag in his room. “You went to the gym?” Heath asked has Sam locked his room door. “Yea, Kai and I. I need to get my body back in shape after six months of just getting back to normal.” Heath saw Sam go to the kitchen and grab a bottle of whiskey. Sam was laying on the couch drinking. “Can Alexis come over.”
“Sure.” Sam said has Heath couldn’t believe his brother had said yes. Even since they moved to this city Sam never let anyone come to their apartment expect Kai and some chick who spoke Spanish. “Okay.” Heath said has Sam looked at him, “Want me to order pizza?” He asked has Heath felt the air change it became cold.
